Accommodation

Although it varies from trip to trip, accommodation on our trips is generally in mid-range lodges and hotels (2 to 3-star). Our accommodations are selected for their spectacular locations first and foremost, and proximity to the local trails. We work with locally-owned lodges and hotels whenever possible, in order to keep our tourism dollars in local communities. Often they are selected because of the friendliness and helpfulness of the owners, and sometimes because the owners are mountain bikers themselves.

Accommodations are on a shared basis: you will be paired with a person of the same sex. If you want a room to yourself, a limited number of single accommodations are available at a surcharge. Please enquire with our office to find out about availability.

In British Columbia, our Rocky Mountain Singletrack and Ultimate BC trips start with 4 nights at our lodge on the banks of the Elk River; the lodge has a huge yard, a deck overlooking the Lizard Range, and a walkway through a wetlands where we often see moose and elk. Our women's weeklong skills camps stay at the lodge for 8 nights.

Accommodations on our Rocky Mountain Singletrack and Ultimate BC trips include: Home Lodge in Golden, Canadian Rockies Chalets (Canmore), Angela's B&B (Rossland), Kokanee Glacier Resort (Nelson), Glacier House Resort (Revelstoke).

For more information on these accommodations, visit our BC lodging gallery.

Accommodations on our Five-Star Singletrack trip consist of deluxe backcountry lodges: Island Lake Lodge (Fernie), Baldface Lodge (Nelson), Glacier House Resort private cabins (Revelstoke), Quaoot Lodge (Sicamous), Tyax Lodge (Tyaughton Lake).

Accommodations in Peru, Chile, and Guatemala are clean, comfortable midrange hotels that are up to Western standards. The exception is on our Inca Trail XC trip where we will spend 3 nights in remote, interior Peru where the hotels are more spartan (but the location more than makes up for it!). Most guests say that one of the highlights of their trip is staying in a hotel in Cusco with a 500-year-old Inca wall right in the room!
